South African Applications Growing

South African Applications Growing
1 June 2011 John Moore

South African managers, coaches and consultants are applying in growing numbers to join the Chartered Management Institute and the Institute of Consulting.

Exponential International Membership Officer, Namrata Tanna has received nearly 600 applications since the launch of CMISA and ICSA. “There clearly is an appetite for professional membership in South Africa. We have lots of people asking about opportunities for professional development as well”.

One exciting development is the setting up of a compact agreement with employer bodies and associations and education and training suppliers. Exponential Managing Director, John Moore, added, “One of the areas I am very excited about is establishing relationships with some of the top universities and training suppliers in South Africa so that they can become satellite centres delivering ICSA and CMISA professional development programmes”.

Later this year, Exponential SA will be recruiting around 100 Skills Development Facilitators to take part in three professional development programmes: the Certificate in Consulting Essentials, the Diploma in Business Support and the Diploma in Strategic Business Coaching. Initially, Exponential will deliver the programmes and at the same time train local partners so that they can be delivered in South Africa by South Africans. “It is important that we build local capacity so we do not build in a reliance on Exponential”, said Mr Moore.

The Services SETA is sponsoring the SDF programmes and as soon as the Service Level Agreement has been completed, Exponential will be inviting applications.
