Since the launch of its new LEAP in December 2018, Exponential Training has registered just under 100 learners onto its Chartered Management Institute qualifications. The feedback is very good and with more improvements and developments in the pipeline, Exponential’s Managing Director, John Moore, could not be happier.
Transforming VET Assessment
“I am delighted with the early feedback about LEAP. We now have fourteen different qualifications using the platform with around 100 learners. When we developed the LEAP concept our aim was to make learning and completing a professional qualification an enjoyable and as pain-free an experience as possible. LEAP is starting to deliver on this aspiration already!”
LEAP stands for ‘LEARN, ENGAGE, APPLY and PERFORM’. The platform enables the learner, their assessor and the moderator to upload and share files, to communicate and obtain feedback and to mark and assess assignments. LEAP automatically notifies learners and assessors when they have new files and feedback as well as notifying them of the outcome of assessments and moderation.
The platform is also being used in Cyprus, Ireland, Austria, Portugal and Greece. In the UK, learners are completing level 5 and 7 qualifications in management and leadership, coaching and mentoring and professional consulting, it is being used for many other courses elsewhere. In Cyprus hospitality students are using it whilst in Ireland students are completing language courses. The European partner from Portugal is working with learners studying engineering and in Austria students are using LEAP alongside their course in social media and digital marketing.
The platform provides a flexible and easy-to-use experience for learners, VET teachers and moderators. The platform enables courses to be supported in most languages and can be used for both qualification and non-qualification courses. The interface includes motivational progress tools enabling learners and trainers to see at a glance how much learners have completed.
Going forward, the six-strong European partnership is planning to integrate the use of digital badges into the platform. Apart from the impact on motivation and engagement, it will mean learner’s qualifications and achievements will be more visible and transparent helping with career progress and networking.
The long-term development of LEAP will see it being developed as a licensed platform enabling more training providers and colleges to benefit from using the LEAP concept. To make sure you know what is happening with LEAP make sure you subscribe to Exponential’s “In the Loop” newsletter today!
