Have You Heard of IMC Armenia?

Have You Heard of IMC Armenia?
16 March 2012 John Moore

The Institute of Management Consultants (IMC) Armenia is a Newly Established National Body charged with the Responsibility for Setting the Standards for Business & Management Consulting Practice in Armenia.

With the support of the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development BAS Armenia, the Institute will be responsible for promoting international best practices and sharing knowledge through providing continuous professional development to consultants in Armenia. It is currently working towards obtaining membership of the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI) enabling it to deliver the prestigious, internationally recognised Certified Management Consultant (CMC) accreditation.

Less than a year ago, IMC (Armenia) founding members, Marina Poghosyan and Samvel Gevorgyan were taking part in a training programme called Core Consultancy Skills and Professional Ethics (CCSPE) delivered by Exponential Training. Now they are about to deliver the first of a series of CCSPE programmes leading to the award of the Certificate in Management Consulting Essentials accredited by the UK-based Institute for Consulting.

“I think a lot of credit needs to go to Tigran Aghabekyan, BAS National Programme Manager
EBRD BAS Armenia. Tigran had the vision and tenacity to make this exciting initiative a reality.”

Michelle Moore, Exponential Training

Tigran started work in this initiative several years ago when he commissioned some research into the needs of the consulting industry. The outcome was the pilot CCSPE programme last year which has now resulted in Exponential also delivering the same programme in Mongolia.

Following a partnership between IMC (Armenia), EBRD BAS and Exponential Training, Marina and Samvel have been approved and trained to deliver the programme locally. The aim is to build the Institute’s membership base and to increase the country’s consulting capability and capacity to support the rapidly expanding needs of the business community. The first group of consultants start their training at the end of March – they will be the first of the one hundred consultants that will undertake the training by February 2013.

It is essential that training programmes lead to a sustainable, long term impact. I believe this is the case here and I am immensely proud that Exponential Training has played a part in helping to make Tigran’s vision a reality. I wish Tigran, Marina, Samvel and the IMC (Armenia) members every success as they go from strength to strength.

What a nice surprise of having the article about IMC Armenia and our first CMCE training! We really appreciate EBRD BAS team for their support. We need to admit that without Exponential Training and Assessment this endeavor would hardly be possible. THANK EVERYBODY for the goodwill and trust!

John, thank you for you invaluable support for IMC Armenian development. We, the founders of IMC Armenia, will do our best to ensure sustainable development of Institute of Management Consulting, Armenia.

I would like to inform that the first CMCE training in Armenia is completed very successfully. We had 22 delegates from Armenia and one from The Netherlands. The level of satisfaction is 98.2%. This is the historical event. A year ago, 6 consultants from Armenian participated at CMCE training program in Tbilisi provided by ETA. So many activities are implemented during only one year: IMC Armenia is established, two Armenian consultants became members of Institute of Consulting UK and finally the first CMCE is organized with local trainers. And all these are done with the great support of Exponential T&A (John Moore), BAS Armenia team and Mr. Tigran Aghabekyan’s personal assistance.
