www.tyb.co.za) and twenty two nervous, but excited managers. “It’s hard work, but someone has to do it!”, said Exponential’s Assessment & Moderation Manager, Anne-Marie Daly.

The first ever Management and Leadership Boot Camp delivered in South Africa was a huge success. One manager said, “I have never experienced such an enjoyable and intense training programme”. The boot camp was packed with high energy, experiential activities which generated lots of laughter, fun and excitement whilst delivering clear, high impact learning points.

The managers included three Deputy Chief Executives and a host of Chamber managers and specialist managers all employed by the Services Sector Education Training Authority (SSETA). Among the first of thousands of managers in South Africa that will be able to take part in Exponential’s programmes over the coming year, each manager completed a detailed Management and Leadership Reflections Journal and participated in a team-based, assessed presentation entitled “Being a Leader”.

“The quality of the three team presentations was of the highest standard”, said Anne-Marie. The boot camp is just part of a larger learning and assessment programme leading to the Chartered Management Institute Certificate in Management and Leadership. “I am looking forward to assessing their written assignment on performance management”, added Anne-Marie.

On graduating, managers can expect to receive their certificates at the official launch of the Chartered Management Institute and the Institute of Consulting in South Africa at the British High Commission later this year.
