Chris Trigg, Managing Director of Crucis Consultants Ltd, provides coaching, mentoring, consultancy and training support to SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) throughout the East Midlands, East of England, and Yorkshire and Humber regions.
Chris’s ability to successfully deliver comes from nearly 40 years of experience in senior management and director roles within a variety of industries and the military. Crucis Consultants Ltd was established by Chris in 2007 and provided him with the opportunity to allow others to benefit from his depth and breadth of knowledge and experience gained in military and civilian management. Chris recognised that although his engineering background was specific he had a very broad skill base which would be transferable across all industries. Combined with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and his awareness of cultural issues Chris was keen to get his business underway.
“I was pleased with the way in which my business was developing and was enjoying contributing to the success stories of the companies I was working with. When a colleague told me about an opportunity to achieve a Level 7 coaching related qualification I was excited by both the personal and commercial benefits which could be gained from completing such a qualification” explained Chris. “Considering myself as a generalist in many business areas and wanting to become extremely effective in the way I supported my clients I felt I needed to focus on and develop my coaching skills further”
Chris enrolled on the Diploma in Strategic Business Coaching, as delivered by Exponential Training and awarded by The Chartered Management Institute (CMI), in December 2009. Keen to complete, Chris finished the qualification, which included having to write a 10,000 word client based report, in record time. Completing the Diploma in Strategic Business Coaching meant Chris could apply to become a High Growth Coach, with the expectation of being able to help other businesses. Chris was accepted as a High Growth Coach on the Coaching for High Growth Programme in the East Midlands, during which time he coached 3 clients.
“I was also accepted as a High Growth Coach for the equivalent East of England programme and during my time as a High Growth Coach I have worked with 11 clients, helping them to grow and develop their businesses and their leadership and management skills. I am delighted to say that I have retained clients I coached as part of both High Growth Programmes and I continue to help them in many ways”
Personal professional development is important to Chris as he believes it takes him to the next professional level in his field and also gives him a sense of personal achievement. He was able to make use of a High Growth client based report as the core of his submission when applying to become a member of the Association for Coaching. Chairing the Lincolnshire Branch of the CMI, Chris has been very involved in setting up the first Student Chapter at the University of Lincoln as a means of encouraging and developing the next generation of professional managers.
Chris has recently become a Fellow of the CMI. He is also proud to announce that he has been awarded Chartered Manager status and yet again the client based report was used as part of his submission.
