Exponential Training & Assessment is hosting a conference called, Super Charge Performance Through Mentoring on Friday 12 April 2019. Speakers will share their thoughts on how organisations can grow and improve their performance using mentoring.
The Changing World of Work
The workplace has changed dramatically in recent years not only in terms of technology, but also in terms of the make-up and structure of the workforce. Increasingly, employers are having to adjust to the fact that today’s young people have different needs and expectations than previous generations.
The Erasmus+ iGEN (Interwork between Generation Z and Employers) started in 2016 and has developed two new VET courses – one for employers and one for young people from Generation Z. Partners from the United Kingdom, Cyprus, Hungary, Spain, Poland and the Czech Republic set out to design and test a new VET training programme to help employers and young people to learn how to cooperate and work together effectively.
Lead by Exponential Training, partners designed a course for mentors. The course also included a set of skills, tools and techniques that mentors can use when mentoring young people. Exponential Training’s Managing Director, John Moore, said, “We have designed the tools and materials to be relevant not just for mentoring young people, but for mentoring generally.
Education specialists, Dekaplus, developed a soft skills training course designed for members of Gen Z. The aim of this course is to help young employees to be more prepared for, and more confident and able to solve problems in the workplace and how to cooperate and work with workmates from the Baby Boober generation.
On 12 April, Exponential is hosting a conference to share the results and impact and the mentoring tools and techniques. One of the key note speakers, Anne-Marie said, “New learning technologies, new ways of working and the mix of different generations can make for a challenging workplace. Mastering and using mentoring is a key skill for any manager – this conference will provide some insights into best practice and how to run a mentoring programme for Generation Z employees.
