Leaving the Armed Forces, for many, can be a daunting prospect. After years of living a structured lifestyle which might have involved fighting on the front line, entering what might seem like the comparatively quieter civilian world can be a daunting prospect. In addition to being able to settle into a new life style, personnel need to adjust to a new working environment.

Enhanced Learning Credits (ELC) Scheme

The ELC scheme provides funding for Ministry of Defence (MOD) service personnel and helps with career training and development designed to help them to find employment post service. All career training and development courses must be delivered by an Approved Learning Provider and result in the award of a nationally-recognised qualification at Level 3 or above on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (England and Wales).

Under taking a Chartered Management Institute (CMI) professional qualification programme is terrific way of benchmarking and evidencing management and leadership expertise gained whilst in service. Simply put, it validates an individual’s military experience and translates it into a civilian recognised qualification. With a huge and growing shortage of managers in the UK, more and more personnel are choosing to register with one of the Institute’s internally recognised centres.

As one of a handful of Approved Chartered Manager Centres, Exponential Training is also able to support personnel to achieve Chartered Manager status - the highest accolade in the managerial profession. A CMI qualification combined with the Chartered Manager ‘stamp of excellence’ gives personnel the edge as a stand-out manager and leader – something employers are desperately seeking.
