Just Look at You Now, Matt Bunn CMgr FCMI

Ten years ago a young enthusiastic manager with dreams and aspirations of a career took part in an Exponential Training "Leaders in Business" programme. Matt is now an Operations Director and a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).

Matt achieved a Level 4 NVQ in Management in 2005 and now he holds two of the most prestigious formal recognitions a manager can hold: the CMI Level 7 Diploma in in Strategic Management and Leadership (QCF) and the Chartered Manager.

As Operations Director for the rapidly growing landscaping business, Carrier Landscapes, Matt has played a key role in the company’s continued year-on-year growth. This success has enabled the business to build, move on and extend a new office complex as well as investing in expanding the quality and range of its services.

At the heart of the company’s success are service, family values and a commitment to training and education. Matt personifies this philosophy as he has been able to apply his knowledge, learning and experience to help shape the company’s growth.

When Matt started the Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Leadership and Management, he said,

"I would like to complete the Diploma as I believe it is the step I need to take to ensure I continue to develop my management skills. I completed a Level 4 Leaders in Business with Exponential nearly 10 years ago and I have since been promoted to a Senior Manager and then to a Director within this time.

I would like to apply what I learn in practice by bringing in my knowledge to my current everyday work. I am always thinking and implementing of new ways of doing things and my current management team and business will benefit from what I learn from this course. I am looking forward to a new challenge."

Not only did he achieve the Level 7 Diploma, but he then went on to be recognised as a Chartered Manager. He achieved this using the Exemption Route which, as an Approved Centre for achieving Chartered Manager status, Exponential Training can offer.

Chartered Manager

What is different about a Chartered Manager and other managers? Evidence from the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) suggests that it is the ability to impact on an organisation.

CMI reports that typically Chartered Managers:

  • Add value – by delivering up to £362,000 in added value to an organisation
  • Get results – by using best-practice managerial skills to lead people and manage change
  • Innovate – by creating new products, services or market developments
  • Exceed targets – by meeting or beating performance indicators
  • Deliver improvements – by initiating significant savings or performance improvements with new ways of working

My message to Matt is simple – keep on investing in yourself and reaping both the personal and professional rewards and CONGRATULATIONS from Exponential Training.
