LEXSHA – Get Used to the Name

Following the success of the European project, Biz.Learn.Net, Exponential is a key partner in an exciting, follow-on project called LEXSHA.

The acronym, ‘LEXSHA,’ is short for ‘Learning, EXploring and SHAring.

LEXSHA is all about helping and supporting owners of micro businesses to learn, develop and to grow their business. It is about entrepreneurs and business owners learning, exchanging and sharing knowledge with each other in a unique way. What is so different about LEXSHA is that it is not about training providers devising and delivering training courses – it is all about learning from your peers.

LEXSHA will see the development of a practical, easy-to-use, transnational Virtual Community of Practice (VCP). The VCP will make it easy for businesses to access practical ideas and knowledge when they need it: in essence, the LEXSHA virtual community of practice will be a place where business owners can connect and learn from each other on a just-in-time basis.

Lead by Bordeaux University (France), the project team comprises partners from eight different countries namely Virtual Campus (Portugal), SMEBOX (Sweden), Stichting Business Development Friesland (The Netherlands), ISM University of Management and Economics (Lithuania), August Horch Akademie  (Germany) and Best Cybernetics (Greece).

One of the challenges faced by new and small businesses and entrepreneurs is the sense of isolation – feeling that no one else understands what it is like to be in your situation. LEXSHA will help to address this by providing a safe, informative and supportive place to swap and share experiences, lessons and solutions.

I can see LEXSHA being of tremendous help to businesses at the start-up stage as well as those that are looking to grow. The really interesting thing is that at this stage none of us know what ideas, lessons, tools and experiences will be added to LEXSHA – this is because the agenda will be lead primarily by the entrepreneurs themselves: if they think something is valuable, then it will be there.

If you want to know what is happening with LEXSHA or are interested in taking part, contact us and you can be among the first to benefit from this fantastic new resource.

If you know other entrepreneurs, enterprise agencies, incubation and technology centres or anyone who runs a small business, forward this to them and they too can benefit from LEXSHA.
